How long have you been an artist? What is your specialty? Where do u find inspiration?
I have been drawing since I was two-year-old! I used to specialize in drawing my childhood characters such as Thomas, Winnie the Pooh, etc, but in recent years I have tried a more “realistic” style for drawing. I drew a portrait of an exchange student at my school in 2013, and ever since then I have wanted to capture the beauty of others through portraits! My inspiration comes from the creativity of the young and older generations of people who love creating artwork.
Do you have a job in the art industry? If So, what’s one thing you don’t like about it? If no, where would your dream job be?
Unfortunately I do not have a job in the art industry, but in the future, I hope to become a full-time artist who creates drawings not only for myself, but for others!
Do you have a favorite Artist?
I have so many artists that I love so its hard to choose haha. But if I HAD to choose one it would be Lisa Clough Lachri.
If you could meet and talk to any person in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
I would want to talk to Shigeru Miyamoto because he is the creator of my favorite character: Mario! Though I would have to learn Japanese first.
How is one way you make money with your art?
I am currently taking commissions locally where I live, but in the future I would love to do commissions through online and ship them to customers!
What is your favorite brand of art supply? Whether it’s a brand of pencils or brand of camera or software
My favorite brand of art supply is Strathmore! Their papers help give my drawings life and create the smooth, realistic textures I want.
Any advice for young artists?
I believe an artist does not require the most expensive supplies, the ability to create pieces on a professional level in order to become an artist. You can create and accomplish anything as long as you put your mind to it. All the artists that are praised for their incredible did not start off with the skills they have today, we all are still learning from our mistakes and have new things to learn from every pencil or brush stroke we make. I believe every human is truly an artist, and as long as you can commit to improving your creations, you will be the artist you strive to be.
