How long have you been an artist? What is your specialty? Where do u find inspiration?
I started creating art in 2013, so 6 years ago now. I mostly paint large scale murals and canvases, as well as creating digital works using my computer or iPad.

I find a lot of inspiration in nature, the human body, animals and everyday objects. I love taking elements from familiar objects or animals and using them to create my own surreal characters. A lot of my inspiration also comes from 90’s kids shows on channels such as Nickelodeon and ABC Kids. I just love all of the cartoon characters from that era.

Do you have a job in the art industry? If So, what’s one thing you don’t like about it? If no, where would your dream job be?
Yes, I am a full-time Graphic Designer. One thing I don’t really like is that my work is very structured and I am not allowed to be as creative as possible. My dream job would definitely be a full-time, self-employed creative.

Do you have a favorite Artist?
I don’t really have one favorite artist, but I absolutely love the street art movement of the 1980’s with artists such as Keith Harring and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

What is one accomplishment you’ve had in your life? Does not need to be art related.
I guess finishing my Bachelor of Visual Art and Design degree and getting a job in the industry the same year would be my biggest accomplishment so far =)

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years?
I hope to be making money off my own style of art, and traveling the world painting murals.

If you could meet and talk to any person in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
There are so many people I would love to meet but if I had to narrow it down it would have to be David Bowie as he was such a cultural icon and amazing all round creative. I went to the ‘David Bowie Is’ exhibition in Melbourne about a month before he passed away, and still can’t believe I will never be able to see him perform.

How is one way you make money with your art?
I work as a Graphic Designer so I am on a salary for that, as well as doing mural and logo commissions on weekends =)

If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
I have a fascination with South America so I definitely would love to go there next. I believe the scenery and culture would definitely inspire my art. I would love to go back to Berlin as well, as I was only there for a week but fell in love with the overall culture.

What is your favorite brand of art supply? Whether it’s a brand of pencils or brand of camera or software
For drawing, I love using Ironlak markers as they are super smooth and the colours are incredibly vibrant. For designing, I mostly use Adobe Illustrator which can be almost magical once you get the hang of it!

Any advice for young artists?
To create art every single day whether it be a small sketch or just playing around on the computer. People often say ‘you’re so talented!’ but what they don’t realize is that it is not all natural – I have had years of practice and have worked extremely hard to become the artist I am today =)
