How long have you been an artist? What is your specialty? Where do u find inspiration?
I’ve been an artist for about 6 years now, but it’s only in the last year that I’ve started to be more comfortable calling myself an artist. I do video work, photography, and I studied product design in college but graphic design has been my main discipline for awhile now. I find inspiration from nature, other artists, and myself. I also love looking at scientific drawings and utilitarian graphic design like blank cassette tapes.
Do you have a job in the art industry? If So, what’s one thing you don’t like about it? If no, where would your dream job be?
I’m primarily a freelance graphic designer. I create logos, album covers, posters, and clothing designs. I would love to eventually stop doing client work and focus all my attention on my art, clothing, and other products I’d like to make.
Do you have a favorite Artist?
Scott Hansen, the creator and designer behind the band Tycho is a huge inspiration for me.

What is one accomplishment you’ve had in your life? Does not need to be art related.
Marrying my wife, Hillary, will forever be the best thing that ever happened to me.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years?
In 5 years I’d love to have a home of my own for my family and be creating more sculptures and physical installations with my designs. In 10 years I’d like to still be creating art daily, but also be creating my own music and other visual experiences. I want to be creating truly immersive experiences as this point with sound and visuals combining to create something truly unique. In 20 years I’d like to have built a place where people can visit and have transformative visual experiences designed uniquely for them combining everything I’ve learned and created throughout my life.
If you could meet and talk to any person in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
I’d love to get a coffee with Aaron Draplin
How is one way you make money with your art?
Selling prints, shirts, and through my Patreon Page
If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
I’ve always wanted to visit New Zealand. I fell in love with that area after watching Lord of the Rings

What is your favorite brand of art supply? Whether it’s a brand of pencils or brand of camera or software
I mainly use digital services for my work and I think most of the big creative software and hardware companies are failing creatives in many ways right now. But, there are smaller companies like VSCO that are doing things right.
Any advice for young artists?
Be kind to yourself. As artists I think we feel things more sensitively and have a tendency to be really hard on ourselves. If you’re young (under the age of 50) you really have so much time. Don’t get caught up in your “brand” or your “voice” just make things over and over. Make bad art, make okay art, and most importantly, just don’t stop. You will find the work that makes you feel like you and when you do that just keep going and try to focus on that path.
