How long have you been an artist? What is your specialty? Where do u find inspiration?
Since I was a kid I was always drawing doodles, caricatures and some funny things everywhere. The canvas was any clean surface in school, books and walls where I could draw something, so I guess I had some talent from my early age and all these years I was only improving it as a self-taught artist.
I don’t think I have a speciality, because I love art and design in general, and I want to create whatever I decide it could be fun for me to do or just to try something totally new. Inspiration could really be anything, so today I could be drawing a caricature, tomorrow it could be a concept product design, footwear or packaging… then I would maybe create some 3D monster or a game concept art and so on..

Do you have a job in the art industry? If So, what’s one thing you don’t like about it? If no, where would your dream job be?
Recently I’ve started working as a 3D Artist at Gamepires – game company from Zagreb (SCUM game), and everything is great there, so there’s really nothing to complain about. I also have my own creative studio MINT, where I work on many interesting projects for different type of clients.
Do you have a favorite Artist?
Actually no, I mean I don’t have any Artist as my favorite one to give you a specific name, but there are so many super talented and very skilled CG Artists in the industry who creates astonishing work, so I definitely watch their work and I hope one day I’ll reach that level.
What is one accomplishment you’ve had in your life? Does not need to be art related.
Well, I had a several personal projects (concept product designs) that were recognized and became featured in a very influential media like YahooTech, Mashable, Playboy and many other digital or print media world wide. Also I won a 1st place for the U30 best business plan in Croatia 2005, so it’s great to know people appreciate what I am doing and it’s a great motivation for me to work even harder and constantly growing
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years?
It’s hard to say and like Mark Knopfler would said: “I don’t know where I am going, but I can always tell you where I am”. So it’s something like that, only thing for sure is that I am staying in Art and Design industry wherever it’s going to take me.
If you could meet and talk to any person in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
Interesting question, but I really never thought about it, so it probably means that all of the most important people in the world for me are already close to me and I am glad that I can see them and talk to them anytime I want.
How is one way you make money with your art?
If it’s not a regular job or my own small business, than I could say for example I make money by drawing caricatures as well. People use to order a custom caricature from me as a unique gift for many different occasions like birthdays, weddings etc..

If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
It would be great to make a big road trip across the US and visit all of these great places and cities. Also I would love to visit Vancouver again, it’s a great city where I’ve lived for a short period of my life and I’d love to see it again together with my family.
What is your favorite brand of art supply? Whether it’s a brand of pencils or brand of camera or software
My favourite software is definitely ZBrush combined with Wacom tablet.

Any advice for younger artists?
From my perspective as a self-taught artist/designer, I guess the best advice for young creatives would be to keep working hard, have fun and think big. It’s like in sport, you can have some talent, but you will grow depending on how hard you work on improving and expanding your skills. You can learn to use any creative tool (software) by watching online tutorials, but if you want to stand out as an artist and get recognized, it’s also very important that you try to build your own style and create original art based on your imagination and creativity. Don’t just make what you see in a tutorial, be innovative and original, that will make you stand out as an artist and become successful in the industry.
